LatDev is an additional functionality (Add-On) of the ADMA. It calculates relative distances and TTC/TTD from a vehicle to multiple objects or lines.
The LatDev function is useful for testing and validating other technologies in the vehicle, such as lasers or camera systems. These technologies are used in vehicles and trucks for e.g. lane departure warning systems or lane keeping assist systems.
Setup Principal
The LatDev Coordinate system is defined be the user by defining the points A1, A2. This can either be done by putting the antenna to the desired locations in RTK mode or by configuring them manually. Line B and SO1 (Single Object) definition follows the same scheme.
With this procedure it is possible to quickly map road and lane markings.
LatDev Data Output
The LatDev Data measurements include the following data (see LatDev Data 1.0.0 article):
• Relative Position of POI1-3
• Lateral and Shortest Distances from POI1 to Line 1 and 2
• Angle from Vehicle Yaw to Line 1 and 2
• Longitudinal Distances from POI1 to Point A1 and A2
• Resultant Distances from POI1 to Point A1 and A2
• Lateral Accelerations from POI1 to Line 1 and 2 in the vehicle coordinate system
• Lateral Velocities from POI1 to Line 1 and 2 in the vehicle coordinate system
• Perpendicular Accelerations from POI1 to Line 1 and 2
• Perpendicular Velocities from POI1 to Line 1 and 2
• Lateral, Longitudinal and Resultant Distance from POI1 to SO1
• Angle from vehicle yaw to SO1
• TTC from POI1 to SO1
• Lateral and shortest distance from POI2 to the left line
• TTD from POI2 to the left line
• Lateral and shortest distance from POI3 to the right line
• TTD from POI3 to the right line
Configuration
The LatDev Settings can be found at menu 7 – Add-Ons in the ADMA Webinterface.
ADMA Interface
Please choose the ADMA ethernet interface for the LatDev Data output.
Destination IP
Please enter the IP address of the DAQ device that needs to receive the LatDev data stream. (Factory default: 192.168.88.100)
Destination Port
Please enter the port number for LatDev data output. (Factory default: 11731)
Location Name
Enter an optional name for the used locator Object.
Used locator object
Select the desired locator object for measuring the different points as described in the menu Setup Principal.
Live Data
We recommend only to measure the different lines and points when RTK is available (GNSS Mode = 8). Otherwise there is no centimeter accuracy. The Stddev values indicate the current accuracy.
Point A1
This point defines the origin of the LatDev coordinate system. By hitting Set position A1, the ADMA takes the selected locator object (see above) and configures the current measured position at this locator.
Point A2
The X-Axis of the LatDev coordinate system is defined by the Origin and A2. (see menu Setup Principal).
Lateral offset
It is possible to define an lateral offset for the x-axis to the line between A1 and A2.
Mode
1) Parallel:
Line 2 is defined via lateral Offset to Line 1. This can be configured at Lat Dist L1-L2.
2) User defined:
Line 2 can be defined with the same procedure as Line 1, by putting a locator object to the desired location and hitting the set position buttons.
3) Is Circle:
Line 2 can be a circle object. For this it can be defined with the same procedure as line 1, with the difference that all 3 defined points must lie on the outline of the desired circle.
Circle Definition
Point SO1 (Single Object)
SO1 can be defined with the same procedure. Put the selected locator object to the desired location and hit Set position SO1.
